10-29-2012: Higher Education/Student Affairs Program
Learn about this great opportunity from University Housing below!
Greetings!
The Office of University Housing is sponsoring an event for students who are interested in careers in Student Affairs/Higher Education. This networking event will provide you with an opportunity to ask questions of individuals who have either obtained a Master’s degree in a student affairs area or individuals who have arrived in student affairs through a nontraditional path (eg. transferrable graduate programs, practical work experience, etc.).
Thursday, November 1st from 5:00pm to 6:15pm
Student Union 107BC
Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served
The program will consist of a 30 minute Q&A session with 3-5 panelists and then we will proceed with a 30-40 minute “speed networking” activity. The networking opportunity will allow you to make individual connections with both panelists and other University members in attendance. We would love for you to attend this event and learn more about staff members you have already met and to also establish new professional contacts.
Please confirm your interest in attending this program so that we can have an accurate count of those in attendance. Please feel free to forward this email to other juniors/seniors who are considering graduate school or a career in student affairs.
Thank you in advance for your consideration!
Sincerely,Arnie

07-25-2012: Group Volunteer Fundraising at Kings Island
Greetings, Northern Kentucky University Student Leader,
Halloween Haunt is on its way at Kings Island! This means that soon we will be starting our Group Volunteer Fundraising Program for Fall 2012! If you are interested in group fundraising in a frightfully fun new way, then this is the program for you!
What in Spooks is the “Group Volunteer Program”?,
Here’s how it works: Your non-profit organization works for Kings Island during the fall and Halloween Haunt and gets funded for the hours worked. You also earn vouchers for 2013 Kings Island Tickets! After your shift: stay in the park and take in the frightening thrills for free! Do you dare?
How do you sign up?
It’s simple! Fill out the paperwork below and send it in. Then you’re on your way to a hair-raising time! Each group will need to submit the following paperwork for the Fall 2012 program.
1.) Group Registration Form. This includes the organization’s Tax Identification Number (TIN is 9 digits in total), full group name, address, signature (from a board member of the group) and date.
2.) Group Leader Acknowledgement Form. Each participating group needs to designate one person as the “Group Leader”, or in other words, the primary contact person. This Group Leader will be notified via email about available volunteer dates and other important program information and will be responsible for keeping group volunteers informed of this information.
3.) W-9 Tax Form. This is to be completed with your Group Name and Tax Identification Number for payment purposes.
4.) Group Worker Participation Form. A Group Worker Participation Form needs to be filled out by each volunteer that plans to participate on behalf of the organization. The form includes the name and driver license number of the volunteer and must be completed before he or she may begin volunteering.
How do you submit paperwork?
1 of 4 spooktacular ways:
1.) By email. To volunteers@visitkingsisland.com
2.) On Sight. Kings Island HR between 8 AM to 5 PM daily.
3.) By fax. To attn: Group Volunteer Program at 513-754-5745
